The Brian Hess Scholarship Fund of Putnam County, Inc. recognizes graduating seniors who demonstrate strong character, leadership, integrity, resilience, and a commitment to community.
Applicants must be graduating seniors enrolled in a Putnam County high school.
One student from each of the five Putnam County high schools is selected to receive a $500 scholarship.
The 2026 deadline was June 1, 2026. This page is being prepared for next year's application cycle.
Selection Criteria
Recipients are chosen through a holistic review that may include academic records, a personal essay, recommendations, and evidence of community involvement.
Consistent dedication to education, demonstrated effort, and a willingness to grow and improve.
Participation in school or community activities, with the ability to lead by example and take initiative.
A proven commitment to giving back through volunteer work, service, or local involvement.
Honesty, responsibility, respect for others, and strong moral character in school and community settings.
The ability to overcome challenges, adapt to adversity, and maintain a positive outlook.
A clear sense of direction and motivation to pursue post-secondary education and contribute meaningfully.
