About Brian Hess
With a distinguished 25-year career in law enforcement, Brian M. Hess is a proven leader and innovator, ready to continue serving as Putnam County's next Sheriff. A lifelong conservative and devoted community member, Brian answered the call to leave the Westchester County Police Department when Sheriff Kevin McConville appointed him Undersheriff. Following Sheriff McConville's passing, Brian has stepped up as Acting Sheriff, ensuring stability, strength, and leadership during this time of transition.
His career is marked by innovation and results. As a Lieutenant in Westchester, Brian founded and commanded the Westchester-Putnam Real Time Crime Center, connecting over 65 law enforcement agencies and more than 5,500 professionals. He has led multi-agency task forces, developed cost-effective technologies now recognized across the country, and co-founded the region's first pursuit mitigation program.

The maximum contribution allowed to a countywide candidate in Putnam County is $1,500 per individual per election (as set by the New York State Board of Elections).
